About JFF Classes

JFF classes offer students an assortment of dance styles throughout the year.  Students enrol in age groups rather than taking single style classes.  Each term students work on a different style enabling them to be exposed to a range of dance genres across the year.  At JFF we firmly believe that good dance tuition offers a variety of styles to fully develop student’s creativity, diversity and proficiency in dance.

Recreational or Advanced

At Just For Fun The Dance Company you have options to help you decide how far or which direction you would like to take your dancing. Students can choose between taking social/recreational classes (Rainbow / Red / Yellow / Green) which are “just for fun and fitness” and include performing in our company concerts OR if you are interested in one of our advanced teams Tauri Stars, Blue Stars & Open Seniors please contact the Principal, Sue Nairn.

In 2025 advanced teams are limited to students 13 years of age and over.

Advanced Teams

Tauri Stars - 13 - 15 years / Blue Stars – 15+ years / Rubi Stars  - 17+ years

Selection for advanced teams are normally made by audition or teacher recommendation late in the year (students will be advised of audition dates closer to the time)

Advanced lessons are developed to build students skills in both Dance Technique and Choreography. In technique students work across a range of styles and jazz exercises to further develop their ability in coordination, flexibility, control, balance, musicality, posture and alignment specific to technique. In choreography, dancers work with teachers developing routines that can be used in performances and competition.  Our Tauri, Blue & Rubi Star students will experience the joy of performing at various regional dance competitions as well as various community events throughout the year. 

 

 

Open Seniors – 18+ years

Our Open Senior (Adv) team is an adult class designed to provide students with a high level of advanced training. Dancers work with a range of choreographers offering a variety of unique movement philosophies and techniques. This class is offered as an open class to all adult students dancing at an advanced technical ability.

Advanced classes allow us to streamline dancers into appropriate ability groups providing the opportunity for students to work in a setting that best supports their interests, skills and levels.
